What are the ingredients in your products?

-Our products are made with the purest, sustainably sourced botanicals from the Amazon rainforest, including the exotic ingredients Aguaje oil.

 Are your products cruelty-free and vegan?

-Yes, all of our products are cruelty-free and vegan.

How do you use Aguaje oil?

-If you're using pure Aguaje oil, you only need a few drops at a time to take advantage of its effects. You can apply it directly to your skin or mix it with your favorite moisturizer and under your daily sunscreen. 

Does Aguaje oil stain?

-This oil has a rich red-orange color which can temporarily stain clothing however it does not stain the skin.  If it does get on your clothes, we found it is easy to make a little paste of baking soda and rub in then wash.

 

 

Are your products safe for all skin types?

-Our products are made with natural and safe ingredients, spot test first in a sensitive area such as inside of wrist. Leave on for a few hours and see if any reaction.  It does have a comedogenic rating of 2 (think Jojoba oil).   If you have any concerns, we recommend speaking with a skincare professional or consulting with a dermatologist before use.

 

What is the shelf life of the product?

-Aguaje oil is naturally packed full of antioxidants that extends it shelf life from 18 months up to 2 years.  Store it away from direct light or heat.  Wash your hand before using to minimize contamination.  Always check the oil as it can become contaminated and these will decrease its shelf life. Check by smell and texture.

 

What is aguaje oil used for? 

-It is one of the exotic wonders known by natives as the tree of life because of oil's calming, soothing, and reviving properties. Aguaje Oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and contains Vitamins E and A and souce of good fatty acids for your skin which are effective emollient as well as a power pack antioxident for your skins health, all which help to revitalize, moisturize and protect skin cells.

 

Where does Aguaje oil come from?

-It comes from a palm tree from South America called Mauritia flexuosa, this tree is known as the “Tree of Life”.  The oil comes from cold-pressing the fruit from this tree.  In Peru it is called Aguaje or in Brazil it is called Buriti.   This oil is high in Linoleic acid and oleic acid, which is helpful for improving skin elasticity and skin repair also helps to repair sunburned skin while acting as a moisturizer and one of the highest natural form of beta carotenes  as in Vit A, with Vit C and Vit E; these antioxidants are known to protect skin from free radical damage.

Is Aguaje oil suitable for the face?

-Yes, Aguaje oil is perfect for the face because of its rich antioxidant load, a plethora of fatty acids and vitamin A. and is easily absorbed, leaving a non grease feel.  As such, Aguaje oil is an excellent ingredient to help smooth, nourish, and moisturize the skin while supporting collagen and elastin production.

Can you use Aguaje on the body?

Absolutely, it is wonderful for the body, again the unique composition of this oil benefits the whole body and your skin will thank you for it.  

What does aguaje oil do for hair?

-Aguaje oil with its rich source of fatty acids, and vitamins, it absorbs easily by your hair strands and good for the scalp. This helps moisturize and does wonders for the scalp and repairs dry, damaged and chemically treated hair, adding shine and silkiness. Great for when you are trying to tame that frizz. It is good for hair treatments to conditioning for all types of hair from fine, thick to curly hair.  It is all about the amount you use. 

 

 

How was this used traditional?

-Aguaje oil topically has been traditionally used in South America for skin protection from the sun, wound healing and to help prevent scarring.
